(Jan 31, 2012) NEW YORK, N.Y. —
Adele is nominated for six Grammys, and she’ll be on deck to collect anything she wins: The 23-year-old singer is set to perform at the awards show. Adele had surgery on her vocal cords last year, and the Grammys will be the first time she has performed live in five months, The Recording Academy announced Tuesday. Her sophomore album, 21, has sold more than six million copies in the U.S. It is nominated for album of the year and best pop vocal album. The CD has three singles that have hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard chart, including “Rolling in the Deep,” which is up for record and song of the year. Adele will also perform at the BRIT Awards on Feb. 21. The Grammys will air live Feb. 12 on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Bryan Adams Hits The Air Canada Centre, Feist Does Something Mysterious

(Jan 31, 2012) Bryan returneth.
Bryan Adams' new cross-Canada tour takes him to the Air Canada Centre on May 3, Live Nation revealed today. It's his first such tour in 20 years - and consider that he was slightly old hat even then; so maybe a reappreciation is coming for the ultra-familiar, meat and potatoes Canadian rocker. He's done his time; in fact, he's closer to Leonard Cohen in age than he is to Drake. (Tickets on sale Feb. 6 from livenation.com; they'll cost $30 to $140.) In other news: Feist and the Weeknd both have creepy new videos; the former evokes the creepiness of No Country for Old Men in "The Bad in Each Other," while the latter delicately draws out some of the implied child abuse in "Montreal." Er, enjoy.
